Gorugoth ‎- Ankoku Shinwa (Myth Of Darkness)

Ankoku Shinwa (Myth Of Darkness) is an album by Gorugoth ‎that was released on the label Cosmic Garden Productions in 1999. This album is black metal and is a compilation of previously released tracks.

This is an awesome album. The tracks have dope riffs which sound really menacing. The album is raw (which I love) leading to an often messy sound which is awesome. The drums and guitars sometimes get all muddied up (this is a good thing). His vocals are awesome, they switch between high pitch shrieks to low and evil sounding vocals. The album has an aggressive and angry sound and atmosphere to it, there was probably a good amount of anger put into these recordings considering the really unfriendly vibes. I know that like an insane amount of black metal is unfriendly, but this album really delivers that.

Eulalia – The Basement Demos

Folder
The Basement Demos is an EP by Eulalia that was self-released in 2011. This EP is raw black metal. Eulalia is one of the very first black metal bands I got into (probably the third or second!).

This album is awesome. Raw as fuck distorted black metal. The first track is very raw and sounds distorted and is rather hard to decipher whats going on. The second track is fast, intense, and aggressive. Fast blast beats and dope guitar all recorded raw with some weird crackly sounds in the mix. The guitar goes from riffs to just playing chaotically. The third track introduces vocals that sound awesome and like they have some reverb on them. This track is raw too with the same buzzing. In some parts the guitar drowns out the drums and its awesome. The EP closes with a track that’s much less raw than the others that has great riffs and blast beats.

I also love this band’s imagery. Lynette Bishop from the best anime ever Strike Witches and black metal, what is there not to love~!

Forest of Harambe – Under The Sign of Harambe

R-823721-1162493214.jpeg
Under The Sign of Harambe is an EP by Forest of Harambe that was self-released in 2016 (yesterday actually). This EP is raw black metal, and its also dank as fuck ayy lmoa xDD

Get ready to get your dick out because this release in entirely themed on Harambe. For those who are somehow not in the know of the greatest tragedy since The Holocaust, Harambe was a gorilla that was shot dead at a zoo after a child fell into the exhibit. The world weeps for the loss of a legend, and mass suicides have been apparent. People cry out into the air “IS THIS LOSS!?”. Harambe instantly became a dank me-me instantly after his death. Many online posts and jokes have been dedicated to him and Viper even made a song/album dedicated to God’s greatest creation, yes, even more great than Viper.

Of course it only makes sense for a black metal band to come out of all the despair and pain caused by Harambe’s cruel death. Forest of Harambe have come to deliver the music the world needed. A short and sweet of raw black metal awesomeness full of so much despair that it can topple any and all other black metal musicians. You better not call this a joke because this is the most serious black metal album ever recorded, and the most important album I have ever posted and ever will post here. I actually should just close the blog after this post. You wont want to listen to anything else.

Memes aside, this is actually a pretty dope EP. Its raw but nice and bassy. The vocals are awesome, high pitches screeches channeling Harambe’s spirit and summoning him upon the pentagram made of the blood of children surrounded by bananas. The vocals sound like cool echoes and are sonically under the guitars. The guitars are the loudest part of this, dark repetitive melodies that are actually pretty awesome.

Трупосжигательная печь – Goreline Terror

cover
Goreline Terror is an EP by Трупосжигательная печь that was released on the label Popsakal in 2014. This album is dark ambient, raw black metal, horror synth, and goreline.

Трупосжигательная печь is seemingly the inventor of the microgenre goreline. Based on the stylistic elements of the genre, and the “power electronics” tag in upload, I believe goreline is a subgenre of power electronics. Very few songs of this genre exists, and it’s characteristics are: extremely repetitive loops, minimalistic (almost entirely just the loop), and the loop is just a looped oscillating sine wave that’s quickly dipping up and down in pitch. The track, Goreline Terror, is the goreline track on this release.

The first track is the horror synth one. This track feels more dark ambient and doesn’t sound like crappy horror movie music disco like how most horror synth is. The second two tracks are the raw black metal ones. These tracks are very short for black metal (30 seconds each) and are so raw I didn’t even recognize it as black metal my first listen. It sounds like it was recorded with the lowest quality equipment possible, then from a very far distance with many walls in between. Which is all good things by the way. EP closes with a slow minimal dark ambient track using an organ.

Xenophobia – Vomit on the Rabbi

309316_back
Vomit on the Rabbi is an album by Xenophobia that was self-released in 2004. This album is raw black metal and NSBM.

For the few who are blessed to experience this album, many absolutely despise it. People really hate this album, often giving the lowest reviews and ratings possible. But, this album is actually crazy good and one of my favorite black metal albums. This album is very raw, to the extent that sometimes guitars sound like someone vacuuming on a floor above you. And to the point that sometimes instruments (often the drums) get totally lost in the sauce. The melodies in this are dope, very aggressive and angry sounding. There is also some acoustic stuff, this sounds really dope too and ranges from more experimental melodies to black metal melodies. The vocals sound angry and hateful, they’re almost entirely incoherent screaming. This album is really awesome and kicks ass. This album really takes the concept of black metal being inaccessible full force, to the point that even black metal people hate it. I very much feel this is one of the best black metal albums made.

Antarktyk – Blizzard Beaks

Blizzard Beaks is a single by Antarktyk that was released on the label Benighted Blood in 2000. This album is raw black metal. Also, yep today is a double post day, with both posts being black metal singles.

This single was actually made as a joke, but despite that its actually a really dope track. Its fast and aggressive and awesome. The vocals in the track are really nice too, they’re mostly in the black metal style but goes into other realms too at times. This is a really awesome track.

Аццкая Богородица – Инквизиция

inkvizicia

Инквизиция is an album by Аццкая Богородица that was released in 2011 on the label Popsakal, but it was apparently made in 2008. This album is a mix of noisecore (a genre of grindcore) and raw black metal. The band seems to be Christian too, making it Christian raw black metal noisecore. But they are anti-Catholic (but so are a bunch of Christian denominations, look at the pilgrims).

This album is very aggressive sounding and very awesome. The vocals are all frantic screaming. The melodies range between noisecore type stuff (like rubbing a cheese grater on a guitar) to black metal melodies. The album has a nice level of rawness to it but still sounds very loud and intense, you can easy decipher all of the instruments. Everything has a good level of distortion too which takes the intensity further. It probably goes without saying but this album is pretty fast too. Also, all the songs are under a minute too, some are just a few seconds.
