Y. 2089 is an album by テレビ体験 that was released on the label Tokyo Exchange in 2014, but the label has since changed its aesthetic and name to TKX. This album is vaporwave, experimental vaporwave, and vapornoise. The album cover is also one of the commercials for the debut album by my favorite idol, Yuki Saito.
Carry the commercial theme from the cover the album sounds like its made from poorly Japanese television. The musician has used the fuzziness to their advantage and uses that to help create an awesome dreamy vibe with the music. Lot of the songs start with a tiny clip of unedited audio then go into various ambient loops made from the manipulated audio, sounds very much like a skipping record. The samples are mostly manipulated by changing the pitch and/or speed then creating ambient loops with it, some are smoother than others but all are awesome. Some tracks get more experimental and use various elements help give it the vapornoise side, keep in mind this album is ambient, so don’t expect harsh noise or anything like that.
