青空の実験室 is an album by Pale Cocoon, that was released on Pafe Record in 1982. Pale Cocoon are one of my absolute favorite bands from the 80s.
The music they did was new wave. But their stuff was very experimental and ethereal. The album has a very dreamy sound. Lots of the sounds have reverb and the vocals are often quieter than other aspects of the songs. The album is very slow and they’re one of those Japanese bands that took new wave then went in a total different direction with it, making it more experimental and sometimes use of more light hearted, sometimes children’s music like, melodies. There is also use of various sounds and field recordings like rivers and ice clinking used throughout the album.
The whole thing used to be on YouTube but it went down. Listen to half of the album below (release is only four songs).
