Tujiko Noriko – From Tokyo To Naiagara

From Tokyo To Naiagara is an album by Tujiko Noriko released on Tomlab in 2003. Tujiko Noriko makes avant-pop. Avant-pop is usually a female singing over IDM or other non-pop things, think Bjork.

Tujiko Noriko’s voice is really awesome and she’s one of my favorite vocalists. I’m not good at describing vocal styles but she’s awesome. The rest of the music is downtempo IDM stuff. This album also uses some non-typical IDM percussion which gives it a nice unique sound. The melodies are pretty and the songs usually gradually build up throughout the track creating an awesome listening experience.
