胎児 – Musique Concrète

Musique Concrète is a 1986 experimental rock EP by 胎児 released on the label 胎内レーベル. 胎児 aka TAIJI has been in numerous goth rock bands and thankfully this album doesn’t sound like goth rock.

The release is mostly drum driven, the percussion sounding very industrial. The percussion is very repetitive and sounds almost tribal based on the rhythms. There’s also bass an guitars involved. The bass (when audible) is mostly repetitive and helps give body to the songs. The guitars are experimentally played and usually do not sound like a regular guitar. The vocals are mostly spoken and somewhat chanted like some bizarre ritual in the opener “Orgasmusique”. There’s also various vocal samples used in the tracks, mostly in my favorite track “Scatos Copy”. The release reminds me of Deutsch Nepal’s Deflagration Of Hell album if it was rock oriented. Very industrial and repetitive and of course, awesome.

This was released as an 8″ flexi-disc and not a free download, if you like it hunt it down and buy it.
